We have a lovely kiosk for sale that we took over for a friend during the pandemic.
We have refurbished it, including adding in new coffee equipment, and built up a customer base during the pandemic to bring it to breakeven.
The kiosk does not work for our organisational goals as our nonprofit works to help train people with disabilities, and the kiosk is unsuitable as a training environment for this.
#The Story So Far
We have a rare opportunity to take over a happy, trading business in Hackney Central; Platform Coffee.
We took over the coffee stand to run during the covid-madness in late 2020 and now that the dust has settled we want to find it's new owner, as unfortunately we are unable to do our SEND Coffee training course at the kiosk. We work with young people with disabilities and train them to be baristas, and the kiosk isn't large enough to accommodate this training.
We have been trading there from January and fitted out the stand with a whole new look more suited to the quality and customers. You can see a video of this here; https://youtu.be/m3qkXR2o6y8?t=504
The staff are fully aware of our intention to sell and you can approach them if you wish, but we would ask you book with us.
The purchase is for the actual stand itself, along with all the equipment, decorations, fittings, and stock at the time of sale.
Whilst we do not recommend this, as it is a semi-permanent fixture with mains water and electrics, you would also be able to take the stand and move it elsewhere if you so wished.
The landlord has agreed to offer a new lease for the ground rental to the new tenant. Please note that it would be very difficult for them to offer the spot to someone else as the kiosk proper would be owned by you.
#Day to Day
We have got relationships with several local bakers who deliver directly to the stand before opening each day, and we have a dairy supplier that does the same. We can have keys returned before completion or do a handover of these relationships.
Bins are collected by first mile and we would include some stock of bin bags with the purchase.
We stock our own coffee beans and would be happy to offer a very discounted price on these, but would also include some stock in the sale.
There are no business rates attached to the stand and electric/water bills are included in the rent.
The rent we agreed if we were to remain was £782 pcm. We believe a rent free period would be included with a new lease if requested.
We really want to find the right buyer for this who will start an amazing business. We have several purchase structures we can explore.
